How each match winner is chosen
Each match has four separate competitions: Final Score, Possession & Territory, Cards, and First Vodacom Bulls Try-Scorer. Each has one winner per match, judged separately.
Only valid entries count: one entry per WhatsApp number per competition per match, received before kickoff. An entry cannot be changed once it has been submitted.
Results come from the official match statistics published by United Rugby Championship (stats.unitedrugby.com) after the match.
Final Score: the winner is the entrant whose predicted score is closest to the final score. Closest means the smallest total difference across both teams' scores: the difference between the predicted and actual home score, added to the difference between the predicted and actual away score.
Possession & Territory: the winner is the entrant whose predictions are closest to the Vodacom Bulls' actual possession and territory percentages, measured as the difference in possession added to the difference in territory, in percentage points.
Cards: the winner is the entrant whose predictions are closest to the number of yellow cards and red cards shown in the match, counting both teams, measured as the difference in yellow cards added to the difference in red cards.
First Vodacom Bulls Try-Scorer: the winner is an entrant who picked the Vodacom Bulls player who scored the team's first try. If the opposition score first, that try is ignored. If nobody picked the right player, or the Vodacom Bulls score no try, there is no winner in this competition for that match.
Ties: if two or more entrants are equally close, including when more than one is exactly right, the winner is the one whose entry was received first, according to the time recorded by the predictor. If two entries carry the same time, the one recorded first is the winner. No winner is drawn at random.
Winners are contacted on WhatsApp at the number they entered, and must reply by the deadline given in that message. If a winner does not reply in time, or the number is not theirs, the prize passes to the next closest entrant under the same rules.
Season leaderboard
Points are awarded for every settled match under the published points rules and added up over the season, per competition and overall. The entrant at the top of the overall leaderboard at the end of the season wins the season prize. If two entrants finish on the same points, the one whose first entry of the season was received earliest wins.
Limitation of Liability
The Vodacom Bulls and its affiliates are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from participation in the competition or acceptance of any prize.
Communication Policy
Marketing messages are optional and you can enter the competition without them. If the WhatsApp box is ticked when you send your entry, you will be added to the Vodacom Bulls WhatsApp list and may receive communications related to events, game notifications, schedules, campaigns and promotions. The email box works the same way for email. If you win, we will contact you on WhatsApp on the number you entered, whether or not you chose to receive marketing messages.
Opting Out
You can opt out of future marketing communications from the Vodacom Bulls at any time by replying STOP to any WhatsApp message, or by using the unsubscribe link in any email.
